Merci Maman was founded in 2007 by Béatrice de Montille. Our first bracelet was created twelve years ago and we have been celebrating the special bond between families ever since. Béatrice now sits alongside her husband, Arnaud, and their team of 50 in their London, Paris and Berlin studios. Join us on our journey and discover our story so far.
Béatrice created Merci Maman’s first charm bracelet in 2007 at her kitchen table in Fulham, London. Merci Maman was born from the idea of cherishing special moments with uniquely personalised gifts to celebrate motherhood and the special bond between a mother and her child.
In 2011, Merci Maman moved into their first office in Fulham, London. From here, we engrave, make, beautifully pack and send all orders placed through the UK website. Since opening in London, we now also have workshops in Paris and Berlin!
In 2014, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was spotted wearing a Merci Maman necklace gifted to her by her sister, Pippa, after the birth of Prince George. The charms were hand-engraved with Prince George’s name, date of birth and a small charm with Prince William’s initial. With her classic style, elegance, and family values, Béatrice couldn’t imagine a better ambassador for Merci Maman and we’ve aptly named this design The Duchess Necklace.
In 2017, Merci Maman was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category! This is one of the highest official accolades for businesses in the UK and our founders were presented with the award at Buckingham Palace by The Queen Elizabeth II. Celebrating our 10th anniversary in October 2017, the Queen’s Award came as an amazing gift and a royal seal of approval!
